Miami, FL. – On  September 24 , Haitian Heritage Museum partnered with ASPIRA of Florida to open a satellite museum of the Haitian Heritage Museum at the North Miami campus.

The opening was compromised of a ribbon cutting ceremony and the exhibition “Innovators of Freedom,” featuring the works of Haitian-American artist, Edouard Duval-Carrié.

This exposition is the first exhibit of many.It will focus on the history of Haiti, accentuating the struggles for liberation that became the stepping-stone toward the country’s freedom, and includes two of Duval-Carrié’s most celebrated works of art. The entire collection will communicate the significance of collaboration and leadership at the forefront of social change. Students can revisit stories of Haiti’s leaders from various eras to consider solutions to unending societal issues, and take these lessons to affect a current social transformation.

This multi-faceted educational platform offers resources for the local community through lessons for teachers, students, families, and the community at large; thus, promoting interest in world cultures, museums, and informal learning.
